How to reach Cuenca from Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD)

Option A — By train (≈ 1 hour once on the train)

  1. From the airport to a Madrid train station
    Go to either:
    • Madrid Puerta de Atocha–Almudena Grandes station
    • Madrid Chamartín station
    Ways to get there from the airport:
    • Taxi: about 30–40 €
    • Airport Express Shuttle: 5 €
    • Metro/Cercanías (suburban rail) from the airport
  2. From Madrid to Cuenca
    • Take a train to Cuenca Fernando Zóbel station (travel time ~1 hour)
    • You can buy tickets in advance at trenes.com

Option B — By car (≈ 2 hours)

Rent a car at the airport and drive to Cuenca (about 170 km from Madrid; ~2 hours).
